The Fornasetti Atelier in Milan is an outpost of careful and accomplished craft production. Here skilled craftsmen and women use the same rigorous hand crafted techniques that were deployed in the very first Fornasetti designs. Colour is applied by hand and the original paper patterns are still meticulously followed. Maintaining the quality of this craftsmanship is an important aspect of the Fornasetti legacy. THE DESIGN: ‘Scimmie’ (The Apes) features drunken monkeys with various styles of glasses and chalices was originally used to decorate the Dulciora Pastry Shop in Milan in 1950. In 2006 Barnaba Fornasetti designed the interior for L'Eclaireur bar and restau- rant on Rue Boissy d'Anglais in Paris. Several evocative settings have been created by drawing on classic Fornasetti decors. Much interpretation as humor references the apes and human behavior in a Fornasetti style. THE FRAGRANCE: OTTO (Eight) is a sophisticated and unique scent that transcends time, season, gender and borders. Made with ingredients that are of personal significance to Fornasetti - Mediterranean herbs that were found in and around the family home, woods often utilized in interiors designs or pieces of furniture created by Fornasetti. Other more ethereal ingredients - such as incense - conjure a latent spirituality or sense of dreamscape that is often present in Fornasetti graphic poetry. • 100% vegetable wax • 3.5” diameter x 6" high • Porcelain • Made in Italy Aprox. burning time 70hrs. aprox.
